June 23rd 2005

Time Spent: 2.25
Total Time: 9.25

Got a late start tonight but got things done. Built the bending jigs. Drilled and cut the wings and horizontal stabilizer slot, drilled the tail and dadoed the fuselage. Hopefully by the end of the weekend I’ll have the fuselage bent and maybe, just maybe, get into some assembly.

Today was a wakeup call at work. A bunch of people I know were let go. Later on I learned that their project was going away, so that explained the layoff. However, the way I heard and saw it done scared me deeply. Instant, unrestrained panic is the only way I can describe it. Never mind that our group has too many projects to let anyone go. In fact we need people. That didn’t register in my head. It was simply silent, unrestrained panic.

When the tree needs to be pruned, don’t be sitting on the dead branch.
