June 21st 2005

Time Spent: 2.5
Total Time: 7

Well, I’m back at it. The post people are finally done so I can get back to the Gee Bee!

I trued-up the fuselage halves and drilled the necessary holes with the bits I have. I need to get a bigger drill bit set. Built a dado depth gauge from some scrap hard maple. Hopefully that will make future dado setups quicker. I had planned building the fuselage bending jig but it was getting late, as usual. I’ll build those tomorrow.

Life’s gotten better since I left off building back in October. Back then and for most of this Spring I was in a pretty bad place emotionally and physically. I couldn’t relax. I was angry and bitter at everything, and I was constantly worrying. I’ve learned to be calmer now. I’ve come to realize that if you just relax your mind and focus on the task at hand you’ll get there. Never as fast as you wish, but you’ll get there. I really want to finish this. Slow and steady wins the race.
